it was a good year | kalispell wedding and senior photographer

i went into 2011 with huge hesitation. this is the year that i decided to follow my heart and passion.
2011 is when i changed the name of my business and decided that i would no longer do family and/or
children sessions. this was a big, huge and scary jump for me. most of my past clients were children and
family….but i knew deep inside that i had to cut back to be a better mom and wife. i also knew that i wanted to do
more of what i was passionate about. i wanted to shoot sessions that made me jump up and down with happiness,
sessions that inspired me…sessions that made my heart skip a beat. high school seniors, weddings and newborns
have 100% of my love!!

i can honestly say that this has been the best year i have ever had. i feel like i found who i was as a photographer.
i feel like i found my nitch in this big photography world. it was easy to give 110% into every session because i truly
loved every single session i did. i met some amazing people along the way and have made some really great friends.

i learned that i need to follow my heart. i learned to shoot for me. i learned to stop looking at and comparing myself to
other photographers. i learned to show what i want to shoot. i learned that i really, really love what i do.

i can’t thank all of you enough for supporting what i do. whether it’s being in front of my camera, commenting on my blog or facebook
or just smiling when you see a photo you love….i thank you.

i don’t know where 2012 will take me, but i do know that i am ready for it!! i’m excited for a new and amazing year.
i will continue shooting weddings, engagements, high school seniors, teens, couples and newborns (and maybe the occasional child
commercial session). i am toying with the idea of workshops too! i have many inquires about them, so it’s definitely on my mind!!

i wanted to recap 2011, so here is one shot from all my 2011 sessions 🙂 *the children photos you see were from commercial shoots*
it’s a long one, so i understand if you don’t make it all the way through. ha!
you can click on each picture and it will take you to the original post 🙂
happy new year to each and every one of you. i hope all your dreams come true in 2012!! feel free to leave me any comments or questions! xoxoxo
